Day Fifty Seven Auckland to Bali (travel day)

Phew!  Up at 3.45 am to get ready for taxi to airport. Caught first flight to Brisbane which was 3 hours 15 mins but we arrived 25 mins after we'd taken off! Stop over in Brisbane for two and a half hours then caught next flight to Bali - six hours five mins. Seemed to have passed two o'clock about three times today. 

However, got picked up by a lovely tour guide and driven through crazy traffic for about half an hour. Motorbikes and scooters skimming the sides of our bus and roundabouts  - well I guess the rules there are - there are no rules. Close your eyes and drive. 

Into our resort. Nice and clean. 3 swimming pools, spa area, bars etc etc. Our 'butler' was giving us masses of information which we had troubled absorbing but we are both under the impression we get free tea and cake from 3-5pm and free cocktails from 5-7pm. 

Had a wander about - lush green gardens and lots of statues everywhere. Unbelievably hot and humid!

Found the bar area and were greeted with a piña colada and a tequila sunrise. 

Hot, sweaty travellers!

Tired and hungry we ate in the resort - a bowl of soup each. Tom Yum for me and Laksa for Howie! Amazingly delicious but too much to eat!  Oh yes, and we ate by the edge of the shore -
