Day Fifty Five Auckland

Lots of walking again today. For some reason not known to us St Patrick's Day was being celebrated today in our area. The main road up from us was closed for a couple of hours and all the floats, pipe bands and people taking part in the procession congregated in our street.

They were loads of people taking part and loads of folk watching. Led by some bigwig - maybe Lord Provost?
Good pipe bands, some wearing kilts and playing Scottish tunes?! The best was a Maori pipe band.
Lots of Irish dance schools with wee kids dancing along the street

The final float was 'The Pope' who bore an uncanny resemblance to Jimmy Saville!

All good fun and no sign of a Guinness anywhere and definitely no drunks! Think it's Thursday that its St Patrick's Day?
Rest of day spent wandering about. Needed to buy new swimming costume which you'd think would be an easy assignment but not so. Shops are full of Autumn/winter clothes so not an easy task. Sampled some local brews in the sun and came across an Indian dance class for kids. Very cute and very well coordinated tiny little people.

Hot day today and 21783 steps. Dreaming of relaxing in Bali. One more day to go ....
