Day Fifty Four Auckland

Out of apartment, as usual, before 10 am for less than an hour's drive into Auckland. Dropped off our luggage at the hotel and then gave back the car - which was looking pretty sorry for itself. We didn't add any more scratches and bumps to it but we did add plenty of dust.
Auckland seems a pretty cool, laid back place from first impressions. Hotel is quirky. An arts hotel so full of big artworks everywhere. Our room is in a cottage in the garden.

Made our way back to the hotel via a Farmers Market where we had breakfast. Can see the Skycity Tower almost everywhere we go. Hope to eat in the revolving restaurant but it's fully booked for Saturday/Sunday - maybe Monday!
In the afternoon walked down the harbour where there is a silo park (?), lots of cool boats in the marina and even a supermarket where you can buy boats.

Lots of nice bars on the wharf side.
Continued our walk up the main shopping street, Queen Street, and ended up at the town hall.

There's an arts festival on just now so we sat and watched/listened to some South Korean music and a woman playing weird stuff!
Walked back to hotel, both too stuffed from eating calamari at the harbour so going to fast tonight - mint tea - no wine, no beer!
Pedo back on clocking up the steps now we've no car - 20739 today!
Thinking of my family at home celebrating Kirsty's 30th at Henley tonight!  Will miss you all but not the headache tomorrow! Happy birthday again, Kirsty!
