Day Twenty Seven Melbourne Southbank

Left St Kilda with all the roads shut and trams stopped for the festival. Had to walk a fair bit to find a taxi. Got picked up by a Vietnamese taxi driver who swore for the entire 2.1 miles because of the f****** festival and f******* roads closed - very funny!
Checked into the Olsen, 5 star, Art Series hotel - a gift from Jenny and Jonny - for the next two nights. Not too shabby, I might say!  We've got a suite on the 4th floor. Nice big bed (which you can buy and have shipped ready for when you get home!), cooker, microwave, fridge etc.

Howie texting Jenny to say thanks!

Cool toiletries

Artwork - or someone who took the quick way down - from our balcony.

You can buy the artwork that's hanging in the hotel and even the  Masini and Chern pyjamas for a mere 200 AUD. There is a glass bottomed swimming pool on the 1st floor which we plan to dip our toes into. Looks funny from the pavement outside because you look up into it. Hope we don't traumatise anyone of a nervous disposition passing by seeing us swimming!

This area has lots of nice bars and restaurants so, although we've done a couple of hours wandering while we were waiting to check in, we'll find somewhere cool to eat tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Off for a dip!  Early blogging today!
